Shane var låtskrivare och sångare i The Pogues, som gjort världens bästa jullåt - Fairytale of New York.
De har även gjort många andra bra låtar, som t ex Sally MacLennane, The Body of an American, Young Ned of the Hill, The Sick Bed of Cuchulainn, If I Should Fall from Grace With God, Streams of Whiskey, A Rainy Night in Soho och Turkish Song of the Damned.
